I'm in awe of these pieces created by Jenny Lee Fowler.
Jenny is a traditional silhouette artist who creates these brilliant works the old fashioned way-no tracing or photoshop involved. You can see much more of her work at her website here and also read an interesting interview with her here.
I'm quite fond of these leaf silhouettes, but everything in her etsy shop is quite nice. I'm tempted to order a custom couple portrait for my upcoming wedding anniversary-the price is so reasonable.
Last year I traded with artist Claire Nereim and received this lovely wildflowers calendar. It's traveled from Oregon to Texas and I'm happy to have it in my home. It's beautiful.
Claire just emailed to tell me she's debuting a new calendar featuring seasonal vegetables of California. I love how bright it is. I'm thinking I may start a little collection of her work...

Portland based illustrator/artist Julianna Swaney never ceases to make me smile.
Her cute shop, Oh My Cavalier, is filled with all sort of fun goodies.
I especially adore the way she packages those sweet brooches and that fun paper animal kit.

Now some of you know that I have eight siblings-but did you know that there was a period of time when five us girls shared one bedroom?
It's true.
From a toddler all the way up to a teenager-we shared that space for a chunk of the late 1980's.
Now how did we decorate the walls? Well you know, I can't even really remember but in a dream world-they would have been plastered with these tongue in cheek works by Portlander Vivienne Strauss.
