Hello out there.
Happy Friday to you all.
If you've read this blog over the years you are probably familiar with my Aunt Diana.
I've written about her several times (including here) and taken many photos of her place (that you can see here).
To me, she in an endless source of inspiration.
When I was a little girl, my sister Maci and I would go and visit Diana often. Once she declared that she would call me "Abby Apple Fritter" and Maci "Maci Maple Bar". Thankfully the nicknames did not stick.
Along with Diana and my Mom we'd visit junk stores hidden away on back roads and in old packing houses. These were the days when things cost 10 cents and sometimes the proprietor would let my Mom or Diana haul away scrap wood for nothing. These two women had a gift for making something out of nothing. During this time many funky benches, bookshelves and cabinets were made from salvaged bits they picked up on their adventures.
Besides my Mom, Diana is proabably the biggest aesthetic influenece in my life. Her ability to see beauty in the quirkiest of things and places is uncanny.
I feel lucky to have her.
Hope you enjoy these shots.
Happy weekend, friends!
