This weekend we saw the movie I Am Love (warning-the link starts the trailer and it is loud). I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I don't think it's a movie for everyone. It was visually stunning and definitely brought up some life issues that aren't always the easiest to think about.
I found myself most compelled by the imagery, of course-but also by the role that food and natural surroundings played in the film. I began wondering exactly what makes me happy in life. I wondered -if I could have/see/do anything what would that be?
When I answer that question with complete honesty the answer is simple. I just want to be around people I love, eating good food, have the time to be creative and enjoy the earth. For the most part, we all have access to these things, right? I mean, there are demands upon us all but it just made me think about how much time I waste worrying about the wrong things.
Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm being too serious or dramatic, but this film just sort of opened my eyes a bit. I think its good to think about our priorities every once in awhile.
I took these photos as night. The light wasn't natural and at first I didn't care for the colors. But the images they portray are good memories for me so they made the cut.
