Last week was a rough one for me.
I kept feeling sorry for myself; I pitied myself for not owning a car, for getting too many bug bites, for being too far from family, for not being able to handle the heat, for getting soaked in thunderstorms, for missing my friends back in Portland, for being in a creative slump...
But you know what I realized? I need to get over it!
Nothing good comes from feeling sorry for oneself.
I've got my health and that counts for a lot and I've got the luxury of having time to experiment with my photography. And that makes me very lucky indeed.
So I've made an action plan of sorts.
In Portland I was lucky enough to be a part of a group of novice and professional photographers that would get together every once in awhile to hang out and shoot photos. It was always a good time and was great to see other photographers in action. I would love to start something like that here in Austin. Are you interested? Leave a comment or send me an email and we'll talk.
I was also able to shoot photos of some amazing workspaces and would love to do that here in Austin. Are you an Austin based artist or crafts person? I'd love to come shoot at your studio and feature your work here.
I also found a local photo lab that does an amazing job with my prints and am so thrilled about that.
See? I have nothing to feel sorry about...
Anyway, I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and hope you have a great Monday.
