Ok, I'm gonna be honest; the moment we stepped out of the U-Haul and onto Texas soil summer began.
At least, for me.
So for the past three weeks I've been feeling it. But that doesn't mean that I can't celebrate its official start, right?
This weekend I sat in a freezing cold old timey movie theater and watched my favorite Audrey film, tried frozen custard for the first time, thought about my Dad, went swimming in the neighborhood pool, bought lots of tomatoes and our first Texas melon, and I even ate a hibiscus paleta (thanks to Megan for the tip). It was a good weekend to welcome summer.
I also thought about what I'd like to do this summer. I was reminded of last year's Summer Social art+craft sale I hosted. I would love to host one here in Austin...maybe next summer? On the must do list for now is to take a dip in the Hamilton Pool, spend a day in a canoe, visit the Alamo, eat as many tomatoes as is humanly possible, and have lots of fun.
What are your summer plans?
