Don't you just love it when a potentially bad or annoying thing ends up being a great thing?
On Sunday we found out our apartment has had a gas leak-for awhile. I was on the brink of stressing out-where would we shower over the next few days, how would we cook, where would we wash our dishes-were we okay... when I turned to my landlord and said "You know what? No problem. It'll be fine. It happens."
The conscious decision not to stress was immediately rewarded with an invitation from my sister for James and I to come stay in Hood River. We would treat it as a mini vacation, and why not? We enjoyed two and a half days of family, good food, nice weather, waterfalls, hikes, and flowers.
This place is absolutely stunning right now. All of the dahlias are at their peak and most everyone is back home, so there are not a lot of tourists-you basically have giant fields of flowers and spanning fruit orchards to yourself. You can pick stems for $.50 each....
Workers were dead heading the dahlias the day we arrived, so each step we took, we were surrounded by soft dahlia blossoms-at their peak, making a carpet for us. It was amazing...
I hope you can experience some beauty in your day today....
