As some of you know, I moved from Portland, Oregon to Austin, Texas about one month ago and right now I am literally *bummed* that I didn't get to see the is amazing new shop, Alder & Co. before I left town.
They carry hand made and thoughtfully made items from around the USA and the world. Some of my favorites are gorgeous mobiles by Frazier & Wing, Japanese masking tapes, Fog Linen and Makr goods.
Seriously-from the photos it looks like some could buy any one thing in the shop for me and I'd be stoked.
I'm hosting the Little Winter market in November in Portland and I will be sure to stop by Alder& Co. For now, I will read their awesome blog and dream...
(all photos taken from their shop blog...thanks guys!)
This morning over at my personal blog, a woman named Cassandra left a sweet comments. When I have the time, I like to check out a commenter's' blog and usually leave a comment in return. When I followed Cassandra's link, I was greeted by this bright and beautiful site: haven.
It a London based shop selling one of a kind quilts and cushions made from recycled and vintage fabrics as well as vintage furniture. The green quilt pictured above is made from vintage kimono pieces. I am drooling over all of the pretty Eastern prints and the bright colors. If I could, I would easily buy several of their stunning pieces.
Do you ever "run across" some one online and think that you know who it is and just kinda keep moving along and then one day you really take a good look at their site and think-"wow, this person is amazing"....
Tara, a video editor over at Etsy, emailed me yesterday and asked me to please watch the most recent Handmade Portraits video featuring Liane from Enhabiten. I watched it-and am so glad I did! I feel like I've seen Liane's work before-but like so many things-lost the link along the way and was so happy to have found her again.
Liane's love of old things hit me right in the heart-and I have a feeling we'd be fast friends if we met. I adore her ability to mix and match and create new things. The pillows shown above are her creations-and is it sick to say that I want them all?
