Betsy, the creator of Foundling, is an etsy veteran. I've adored her goods for years and I am so excited to see them all (and Betsy) in person. She makes pretty new jewelery and accessories from old things and her poppy bobby pins are just about the cutest things I've seen.

Next weekend I'm headed off to Rochester, New York to participate in Second Storie Indie Market. The market is a well curated selection of independent crafters and artists who are selling their goods for the holidays.There will be plenty of other great vendors selling their wares and I thought that over the next several days, I'd introduce you to them here.
These painting are by Marcie Paper. I am mesmerized by her color palette and find her shapes and patterns entrancing. I think that big, almost sculptural pieces like these are great and easy to have in your home (I would LOVE to own a piece of her's). Check out Marcie's website here, there are a bunch of neat things to look at.
Uniform Natural is the brainchild of my friend Martha. She creates clothing, accessories and home goods by hand in Minneapolis. Martha gifted me one of her gorgeous scarves and the quality of it is amazing. I am also the proud owner of some of her hand dyed legwarmers and couldn't be happier about those.

I adore gleaning inspiration from films.
Since there was a great response to the last post like this, I've decided to make it a regular ordeal.
Last night I watched Mansfield Park, which is set in nineteenth century England. I found loads of fun bits-let me share them with you:
I adore the decorations in the father's study-so many great antlers.
Writing with a quill pen might make my writing seem more romantic.
Must do more apple picking in the rain, looks fun!
Parties with candles, fancy dresses and friends are always good.
Watching the ships come in will never bore me.
Reading tales with sisters is a good way to spend an afternoon.
Everyone could use more fireworks and serenading in their life...
Fog is gorgeous.
I know that everyone and their grandma blogs about the Toast catalog.
But seriously, I just want to walk inside the pages and start living there.
I actually have a vintage version of that chocolate pot in the first photo-I should use it more often.

As a young person, I was quite the bookworm.
I have to admit that over the past few years, reading has lost its romantic side.
I miss the days when I would curl up with a book and read for hours and hours until my eyes hurt and could read no more.
I've decided to reread (or read for the first time!) some of the classics.
The books shown above are issued by Penguin Classics (of course) and I would like one of each, please.
