It's funny when you hear about something for so long and then that something finally starts to happen to you.
Each day blurs into the next, my thoughts and words almost completely consumed by this little person growing inside of me. Each day I clean and organize, make lists, move things all around and sit and wonder. This behavior is definitely not normal for me, or maybe it is just my new normal?
James and I saw this movie over the weekend. We both cried our eyes out. I guess you could say we saw it at the perfect time. I mean, we created a life and soon we will be meeting him. That's pretty intense when you think about it.
And now I'm just going to ramble...so I'll stop there.
See you tomorrow for five senses.

So a few weeks ago I got on a plane to California to visit loved ones but most importantly to attend my dear sister's wedding.
The wedding was a beautiful whirlwind held in Berkeley, California. The whole weekend was just gorgeous and my one regret is not taking more pictures! Actually, I was happy to be a part of the event and set the camera aside to enjoy the fun. I was able to shoot these few pics while we were all getting ready before the big event.
I hope you enjoy them!
My biggest congratulations to my sister Cassie and my new brother in law, Eddie. If your marriage is half as beautiful as your wedding was-you will surely enjoy a grand life together. Mazel Tov!

Happy Friday and happy Canada Day to you Canadians out there :)
And...Happy Fourth of July to my fellow countrymen.
I really love summer holidays, I guess because they are a great excuse to swim and eat yummy food. I hope you all have lovely celebrations.
On to five senses...
For those of you who are new readers (or maybe never understood what I was blabbing about) five senses friday was started years ago by my friend, Shari Altman. I use it weekly as way to sit down and reflect on what the past days have been like for me. I would love for you to play along in the comments or on your own blog.
Seeing:
beautiful flowers in my Mom's garden (I really miss hydrangeas...why aren't they grown in Texas?)
Tasting:
Mom's pecan chocolate chip blondies...beyond amazing!
Hearing:
(almost) all of my sisters' loud voices together in one room-pretty great
Smelling:
gardenias
Feeling:
my belly stretched to the max, only nine more weeks (give or take)

bee...
you get it, right?
Hello out there. Hope you are all well. I'm here in California, visiting family and friends.
I thought I'd pop in and share something fun with you all. I am the aunt to twelve nieces and nephews and feel very lucky to have such a large family. They are all so talented in their own ways and today I get to share with you a little bit about my nephew, Christian.
Christian started drawing almost as soon as he picked up his first crayon. At an early age it was evident he had a knack for creating realistic scenes from pen and ink. His talents grew over the years and today his creativity seems to have no limits. He is currently putting himself through art school and with a little nudge from some family members-he's finally decided to open a little etsy shop.
The photos above show his first print available-the print is made from a beautiful pen and ink drawing Christian did awhile back for his bee loving mother. You can view his new etsy shop, Blockhead Bounty right here. There are only five prints available for now, so if you're interested you can snag one up.
Meanwhile we've still got some family events going on so I will see you all back here next week. Happy weekend!

So I mentioned last week that I was able to peek around the new Paloma's Nest Boutique and over here you will find a special little sneak peek and a great q&a with owner Caroline Colom Vasquez.
Thanks to Ez of Creature Comforts for letting me guest post and a big thanks to Caroline for taking the time to show me around her new boutique and for answering all of my questions.
For those of you in Austin, the boutique open Wednesday (tomorrow) and there's a grand opening party on Thursday! For more details about the event click right here.
All right...I'll be away from here for awhile...thanks so much for reading and have a great week friends!

Hi guys.
Just dropping by to say today is the last day to shop in my shop. There are some clearance prints left if you'd like to try and grab some. Shop is shutting down tomorrow. Once again, not sure for how long-at least a month or two while I'm spending time with family and getting ready to welcome our baby into this world. So now's your last chance if you'd like to snag a print.
Also, I wrote a little guest post over here if you'd like to take a peek.
Ok-I'm off to get ready for a big trip-I've got a special wedding to attend and family to see but I'll drop by tomorrow with something fun to share...have a great day everyone!

Hello and happy weekend to you!
This morning I had the pleasure of working on a little photo shoot with the lovely folks from Paloma's Nest. They are preparing to open their flagship boutique next week here in Austin. I'll reveal a little sneak peek of the boutique along with a q&a with creator Caroline Colom Vasquez on one of my favorite blogs next week. I'll keep you posted on it! In the meantime, I'd thought I'd share these outtakes with you.
Today I am feeling ridiculously inspired-mainly from the boutique visit. I am so impressed with the dedication, craftmansship and heart Caroline and her team put into their work. You can read more about their story here. To know that a business woman can take off and succceed within months of a having a child is pretty much the best story I could hear right about now. People in this hand made world just amaze me.
Ok, on to five senses!

Feeling:
like I could conquer anything I set my mind to doing
Hearing:
long conversations with friends and sisters
Tasting:
a Mary Louise Butter's brownie
Seeing:
gorgeous porcelain bowls
Smelling:
gardenias

Hi there. Just wanted to let you all know that if you need to get in touch about an order, or advertising or something with the blog please email me at abbytryagain@gmail(dot)com or abbypowellthompson@gmail(dot)com. (Obviously, you are going to use a . and not spell "dot" I just write it that way to avoid spambots.)
If you are emailing me using a "yahoo" email account I will not see or be able to answer your message. For months I've been trying to close my yahoo accounts but to no avail and a few weeks ago they were hacked again. Months ago I switched my paypal and etsy emails over to gmail-but a customer recently informed me that her paypal statement showed my yahoo account as my contact info. This is incorrect and I've since remedied it (again) with paypal. I just wanted to let you all know in case you were trying to email me and couldn't get through. Sorry about the mix up.
