Yesterday I came home from some errands to a presnt from James. The present was a new Canon DSLR. I am super bummed that my trusty Yashica film camera is no longer with me, but I'm thrilled to jump into a digital world. I do love film but with a baby it is a lot of trouble.
These shots are from a little walk we took around sun up this morning. Some are very blurry and not quite right, but all together I'm pretty happy. I can't wait to learn more about this camera and get shooting again.

Thanks for the kind words about Feliz. Feels good to be up and running again.
I have to admit, I am scared of nice digital cameras. The first reason I'm so scared of them is that I have NO CLUE how to use them. This may sound strange because I am a blogger-but me+technology don't exactly get along so well. I barely know how to set the alarm clock on my cell phone.
But she showed me the bare minimum I needed and off I went. After shooting mostly film for the past year and a few photos with a digital point and shoot, it felt really good!
I admit, these photos aren't totally amazing or anything, but they did make me curious about digital slrs...maybe someday soon I can get one? We'll see. I still love my film...
But...if you are in Portland on Friday, you should stop by Tumbleweed and say hello! From 4pm-7pm there will be a huge sweater clearance and fun and yummy food. It'll be grand.
