(Happy Friday, friends! Today is the fourth post of a new little series that I hope to have each week here on the blog: a little slice of life. I try to share the good little bits about everyday life here on my blog-and there are so many of you out there all over the world who do the same. I thought it would be nice to celebrate that. I'm happy to introduce Ez as my fourth guest in this series. Ez is the editor and force behind the amazing design blog, Creature Comforts. Besides being a super rad blogger, Ez is a Mom and a great photographer. You can see her print shop here and visit her flickr stream here. I'm so honored to have her post here today. Hope you enjoy!)
Eleven years ago, when my daughter was a tiny baby bundled in a stroller, I began taking nature walks with her. At first it was just to help me lose stubborn baby weight and entertain her with the motion of the ride, but once she began walking on her own these adventures became so much more than that.
Now when we step outside our door for one of our mini treks we shed any of the trouble or to-do lists that we've been holding onto all day. There are no rules or expectations...just the simple pleasure of walking in the company of one another and delighting in the things we spot along the way.
Since picking up a camera a few years ago I have found so much joy in capturing snippets of our walks together: watching as the light falls upon my daughter's golden hair, her twirls and leaps as she makes her way along our route, or the look of glee on her face when she discovers a molted bluebird feather, brightly-hued berries, or a nest high in the trees. In these images and the time we spend together I find a map of memories emerging...each one is priceless to me and I will keep them with me always.
Thanks again for inviting me Abby! xo Ez
(Thank you, Ez-for this stunning post! I had a great time on the walk with you two. I'll be back later today with a five senses post, everyone. Thanks again, Ez!)
