an impromptu holiday

Dairyqueen_2

After a series of ridiculous event on Sunday, Ben (brother-in-law), Lindee (sister), James (husband), and I were sitting around-trying to figure out something to do on a very rainy easter when it dawned us-drive as fast as you can to Hood River and don't look back!

This was the perfect solution to our nothing to do dilema-lucky for us Ben and Lindee (oh-and their dog, Foster) live in a cozy home with a jaw dropping view of Mount Adams. And of course-this was the first time in many, many months that both James and I were free! As much as I absolutely adore Portland, I really do love "the country" where even a simple trip to a Dairy Queen to share some disgusting soft serve can seem fun.
And now I present a photo journal of some of this weekend's events:

Chez Lewit (or Ben+Lindee's place):

Tinyportraitonthemantel

a lovely but oh-so-tiny portrait of Ben's grandfather propped up on the mantle

Frontporch

the most wonderful rocking chairs

Bytheshed

interesting textures, and who doesn't love stripes?

Sportyshed

Ben's sports equipment

Minibarn

a shed masquerading as a barn

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
More Hood River photos tomorrow!

Looks like you had a lovely weekend with a little bit of sun at least :)

oooo, I love it when I stumble upon a fellow Portlander! Especially one who loves a weekend trip to one of my favorite spots. Looks like a lovely time.

...i'd love to know what the "series of ridiculous event" have been ... ;) your trip sounds wonderful!
