So please don't hate me for having such a sucky blog. I've just been busy...
This is a game I bought at work, it's a haba game and James play it everyday. It is hillarious.
So, you probably know by now that I work at a toy store...well, here is a little something I am working on at work. Shameless promotion, I know, but I really want it to be fun and cool-and hey there's a contest so go check it out! Thanks!

So, those of you who know me know I have a huge problem with clutter. Just when it is all picked up and put away-i want to start some amazing project or photograph all of my napkins or something else ridiculous and then there is all that mess again. I feel like I've been working on it the past couple of years and I think I may have had a big breakthrough on the clutter front.
I think my problem is two fold:
  1. emotional-grew up with a lot of siblings and clung tightly to the things and space that were "mine". Also grew up in a very full house where objects were considered sentimental and thrift shopping was a weekly if not daily- at times -task.
2. I love to look-I feel inspired and amazed by the simplistic beauty of objects-when everything is nice and neat and put away I sometimes feel stifled....does this make sense? At the same time, I think I am kidding myself here because working in clutter is VERY stifling....
So, my breakthrough? Well, a few things. I feel very secure and safe with James. I feel like I was using a lot of the clutter to make me feel that way, and I don't need to anymore. I am okay with myself and the person I am . Easy to write-huge to feel.
Second, i feel like a lot of the objects made me feel "home". Returning "Home" to my parents' house made me realize that it is not my "Home". My apartment is my "home" and that's just what I want to make it.
Third, i think I am finally developing my own personal style. Sounds cheesey, but its true! My Mom gave me this book and it is a really good starting point. Wilson says to create list of items you need and luxuries you want for your home and then make a plan to get those things. Whether it takes months or years, really think about the items you want to live with everyday. Sounds like a very simple concept-but the way it is written as well as the photographs really put things in perspective.
So here I am, slowly working on it-it feels nice to have a plan.
First thing on the luxury wish list:
this!

newness

Hellonoah

Here is my NEW nephew, sweet baby Noah...
I feel like there's a lot of new in my life right now, and it feels good. Scary, yes, but good. Maybe the things aren't so new, just my mindset? Do you ever feel like this?
Anyway-I need your help! Please, please, pretty please.....as part of a project I would love to hear about some of your favorite kid websites. They can be stores, educational sites, projects, blogs-whatever-if it is a website about a child from newborn to 8 yrs I want to know about it. Thanks so much in advance!
  And for something else new...

It's funny how going home makes me realize my own potential. I see how far I've come, how much has changed, how much has stayed the same.....it brings my goals and wishes into perspective.
I came back and decided to commit- really commit to a big project at work. I am excited and nervous and scared-but so ready. Wish me luck.....
I thought I'd share some beautiful photos with you

     1. simple stacks of plates

     2. beautiful colors

     3. daisies

     4. a great bike

Have a good weekend

Noahanddiapers

I am home after a whirlwind visit to California. My new nephew Noah is amazing, as you can see in the photo above (the other photo is of his cloth diapers hanging on the line). I am exhausted and happy, just the perfect way to feel after a trip. Hope you are all well-more to come.....
