bad at this

Feet

I've been bad at keeping up with things lately. I don't know if I was ever very good, but it seems that I've been slipping. Maybe I just have too many things to keep up with. I think that is my problem.
Cooking is once again my vice. Each night before bed I read one of my library cookbooks-cooking is the one thing that keeps my mind off of everything else.
I've had some good news recently-a photo of mine is going to be in a REAL BOOK! And both of my jobs are going well....I am hoping to collaborate with a local designer and have some of my designs on clothes by this fall...we'll see.
Some other news is not so great-but hopefully it will work out in the end. For now I am going to leave for awhile-not that I have been around much anyway. But I really want to be a bit more quiet-maybe just some photos for now.
Soon, I will be 25-that is really scary-I've got some thinking to do.....thanks for reading and commenting-even though i am the world's biggest flake.

i think cooking (particularly baking) is so so soothing. congrats on your photo being published and your new adventures in fashion.:) i love coming here abby. you offer so much inspiration. xoxo

big props for taking time to think and doing what makes you happy. do let us know if the clothing thing pans out -- it'd be lovely to see and wear your designs around town!

that's great about your designs possibly being on clothing, abby!

i wish i liked to cook. but honestly, just the thought of it throws my emotions for a loop. isn't that strange? i hate cooking so much that if i think "what should we have for dinner" during the day, i get crabby and almost careless. it's just something that really irritates me, i suppose. but what's really odd is that i have many cookbooks, and i like to read them often. strange.

Honestly, good for you for having the wisdom to know that you need some quiet reflective time. I hope that you are able to work through whatever darkness is pervading your life. Peace to you Abby.

sounds like some great things are happening. it is good that you are aware that you need to take a step back from a few things. don't worry-25 will be grand!!
keep in touch.

congrats on the photo! that is very cool....

take all the time you need. everyone needs to step away at some time.

25 was one of my best years. i am sure it will be great for you too!

hi abby. i hope that your 25th year brings good things and growth... i know that it will! and congratulations on the photo and clothing design.
cooking is so good for taking your mind off things, isn't it? a sort of meditative state. take care of yourself...

I get no flakiness vibe from you, Abby!

Congratulations on the book and the clothing! Sounds to me like you have lots happening at once and something has to give. We'll be here when you return.

i can so relate...
love the photo
and
congratulations
on the photo
in a real book!

Congradulations on everything. So much to look forward to 25 will be grand. Your a beautiful flak because your never fake.
Love you,
Lesa

abby - you aren't the world's biggest flake. lots of exciting things going on! yay!!!

25 is great [it was my hardest birthday thus far]

lots of love

This is not a mean comment at all. Your blog is beautiful...I'm just responding as a person who has turned 65, dammit...how did I get here? It seems like just yesterday when I was 18, 20, 25, 30 etc. You will too before you know it and I hope that your journey there is filled with love, laughter and JOY.
It goes in a heart beat..love every moment, cherish every day. You are worth it. I am amazed at what you do.
Take care, Happy Birthday...blessings to you.

i always feel overwhelmed too...yes many things to keep up with but so little time and energy...hope it all go well with you, and look forward to seeing the book!! ^_^

Hi there, have just discovered your blog and you say so many things that ring true to me. I'm turning 25 this year too and still trying to work life out... I think (hope!) that's normal though!

I love your chicken drawings, chickens are one of my favorite animals, such fun to have around (I have 18!)

Hope it all works out for you

congrats on your photo, what a compliment to you and your beautiful photography! I've been a flake too, shouldn't we all just excuse each other from the pressure of keeping up? It shouldn't feel like a second job. Enjoy your culinary vice, enjoy Spring! xo

Oh Abby, Congrats on so many great things happening over there, you shouldn't be hard on yourself, I think you achieved a lot. Take care.

oooh, i just love shortbread! I'm a huge backing fan but i do not seem to have a good shortbread recepy. Would it be a lot of work to mail the recepe to me? Or put it on your blog. I have added your blog to my LINKS list. I love your blog!!!
